The people of North Carolina are benefiting from a reformed tax code thanks to the work of the 2013 General Assembly that lowered taxes and encouraged job growth. This has stimulated business growth and job creation to the tune of 100,000's of jobs. As a result we reduced Unemployment from 11.4% in 2010 when we were ranked among the worst states to only 6.5%. Further, we have increased our National Economic Competitiveness ranking from 44th to 17th. We still have work to do and can't turn back. The people of Wake County and the great state of North Carolina deserve our continued efforts.
